Children's Privacy Notice

Accounts must be created by a parent, legal guardian, teacher, or school. By creating an account for a child, that grown-up consents to the collection and use of the child’s information described here and in our Privacy Policy. Where a school signs up students, the school acts as the child’s agent and provides consent on the parents’ behalf, as COPPA permits for school-authorised educational services.

• Display name (a first name or nickname is enough — no full name required)
• Selected grade, avatar emoji, colour, and theme
• An optional profile picture, only if uploaded on purpose
• Learning progress: activities completed, quiz scores, streaks, XP, coins, tricky words
• Homework help metadata (time, grade, subject, blocked or allowed)

We ask for no more than is reasonably necessary for a child to take part in the learning activities, and participation is never conditioned on giving extra information.

• No behavioural advertising, ad networks, or ad tracking of children
• No selling or renting of children’s personal information
• No public profiles, open chat, or messaging with strangers
• No storing of homework photo contents after guidance is generated

A student’s profile picture defaults to a private, non-public setting. Students and grown-ups can choose whether a picture is visible only to the student, to their linked grown-ups, or to their class. Pictures are stored privately and served through short-lived signed links.

Linked grown-ups can:

• See progress by grade and subject, activity history, streaks, and trouble spots
• Review homework help requests and whether any were blocked
• Lock the dashboard with a PIN or device biometrics
• Unlink a student account at any time

Linking requires the student’s own link code, so a grown-up can only follow a child who shares it with them.

A parent, guardian, or school official may ask us to show what we have collected about a child, correct it, delete it, or stop any further collection. Email info@acireinnovationsinc.com from the address on the account and we will verify the request and act within 30 days. Deleting a child’s data may end their ability to use parts of the app.

When a school uses ThinkSyKids, student learning records are handled on the school’s behalf as a school official with a legitimate educational interest. We use those records only to provide the service to the school, we do not use them for our own purposes, and we return or delete them at the school’s request.
